R&A Student Tour Series Final – Cancelled

The R&A Student Tour Series Final has been cancelled, not postponed, due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. This event will not be played in 2020.

Taking place on prestigious world class golf courses between September 2019 and April 2020, the aim of this new Series is to provide elite amateur championships to enhance high performance competition amongst the leading student golfers outside of the USA and Mexico.

Players can earn Tour Series Order of Merit points by playing in 2 or more of the 4 qualifying events taking place in Scotland, Ireland, Spain and Portugal. The top players after the Tour Series: Portugal will qualify for The R&A Student Tour Series Final in April 2020 taking place over Carnoustie Championship Course, The Eden and the Old Course in St Andrews (at what was previously The R&A Scholars Tournament).

Every event on this year’s R&A Student Tour Series takes place over a golf course that has hosted a European Tour event, Open Final Qualifying, or The Open.

The Aims of the Tour Series

  1. Further raise the profile of student golf opportunities across Europe.
  2. To deliver more regular quality competition alongside maintaining a solid BUCS Golf Tour operated by BUCS and SSS and Irish Students competition schedule.
  3. To support students who attend a University in Europe that does not have a golf programme and, students based in Europe who receive an R&A Scholarship, to access higher level competition.
